How do player contracts work?

How contracts work

• Every active player uses one contract game when they play in a tournament.
• When their contract reaches zero, they cannot enter tournaments or earn rewards until you renew it.
• Players can have up to eight contracts.
• Newly signed players come with four contracts.
• Benched players do not consume contracts.
• Signing more shares in a player can increase their contract count, depending on how many shares you sign.

Checking your contracts

• Open the Contracts tab on the Squad or Roster page.
• Players are grouped by the number of games remaining: Active (three or more games remaining), Ending Soon (one or two) or Expired (zero).

Renewing a contract

• Open the Contracts tab on the Squad or Roster page.
• Choose the player or players you want to renew (you can renew up to 25 contracts at once).
• By default, renewing takes the player’s contract up to eight games, but you can choose a shorter renewal, with a minimum of four games.
• Review the Gold cost and click Renew contracts to confirm the renewal.

What renewal costs

• Renewals are paid in Gold.
• Renewing a contract costs 0.05% of the current value of your holding in that player for each match you add. This means the cost depends on the player’s current price, the number of shares you hold and the number of contract games you add.
